The International Project Officer role will * Work with existingpartners andpotential partners in identified countries and undertake partner liaison and partnership strengthening activities. *Undertake a range of capacity building activities with partners and local sex workers;implement annual work plan activities with in-country partners.* Act as a representative of Scarlet Alliance, within the authority delegated to this role,to build strong relationships and partnerships between partner organisations/individuals and Scarlet Alliance.* Plan and implement project activities working in Australia and in-country in consultation with the project manager and co-worker/s.* Meet and network individually with local sex worker leaders and collectively with sex worker groups/organisations/networks, convening or assisting local sex workers to convene sex worker community meetings and document self-identified needs of local sex worker communities.* Utilise community development approaches to support local sex worker communitiesto build strong networks in order to participate in the response to HIV and AIDS.* Share technical expertise, through both formal mechanisms such as workshops and training and informal mechanisms such as mentoring of sex workers, to enable leadership skills development.* Work with sex workers to provide training,and technical advice to service providers in order to strengthen their knowledge and skills and improve their capacity to provide effective services to sexworkers, improving sexworkers access to, and involvement in, services.* Identify and meet with the projects providing services to sex workers, promoting partnerships between the projects in order to improve the qualityof services.* Record project activities and outcomes and complete project reports. Provide verbal and written briefings as required.* Develop and implement project evaluation mechanisms andundertake thatevaluation in consultation with the International Project Manager.* Ensure work practices comply with the requirements of the relevant legislation and O H & S policies and procedures including Scarlet Alliance‘s Child Protection Policy.• Conduct other duties as directed.
