"Claws are out in brothel catfight", Todd Cardy, court reporter, Perth Now, May 30, 2009

THE two madams of WA's Langtrees brothels are at war, with one taking the other to court claiming she is being pushed out of the business.

Kylie Anne Memphis Forrester - who is also known as Kylie Ann Stubbs and Anne Forrester - filed a Supreme Court writ on Wednesday against Beverly Maree Clarke, saying their ``personal and professional relationship'' was so bad they should sell and split.

The writ says that since a falling out in February, Ms Forrester has not been paid her share of the brothels' profit - about $2000 a week - has been excluded from business dealings and has been removed as a signatory for business bank accounts.

The Langtrees brothels in Burswood Rd, Burswood, and Hay St, Kalgoorlie, were made famous by their owner and former madam Mary-Anne Kenworthy.

According to the statement of claim, Ms Clarke and Ms Forrester, who described herself as an experienced manager of escort agencies and massage parlours in WA, decided to take over the lease of the Langtrees properties in October 2007 through a joint shareholding in Mackenzies Corporation Pty Ltd.

Ms Clarke, an accountant who became the sole director of the company, was responsible for the financial affairs of the business. But the claim says that since the relationship broke down, Ms Clarke has ``repeatedly and persistently'' acted in a way that has been ``detrimental to the interests'' of Ms Forrester and breached her trust as the company director.

Ms Forrester also alleges that Ms Clarke hired her son, an accountant, for the business without her permission and has told customers that she no longer works at Langtrees.

``The relationship between the parties, and in particular the relationship between the plaintiff and the second defendant, is now such that the unit holders are no longer able to work in harmony,'' the writ states.

Ms Forrester alleges Mackenzies, which is named as the second defendant in the action, has ``excluded'' her and ``deprived her of any further current knowledge of, or involvement in, the control of the businesses''.

``The relationship between the parties has reached the point where it is appropriate for the trustee of the trust to sell the trust's businesses ... and distribute the proceeds of the sale.''

The Langtrees lease expires on October 8, but there is an option for another three years.

Ms Forrester wants the court to order the dissolving of the trust which manages the brothels and an audit of all payments made to Ms Clarke since the two started work together.
