"Callgirl fakes health checks", Tony Keim, Courier Mail, 22 May 2008
A Brisbane prostitute called “Memphis” provided fake medial certificates to allow her to illegally service clients at a legal brothel for more than a year, a court was told yesterday.
The Beenleigh Magistrate’s Court was told that Brown, 29, used six bogus medical certificates to allow her to work at Yeerongpilly’s The Viper Room brothel, on Brisbane’s southside, between December 2 2006 and some time in January.
Prosecutor Angela Neylon said officers from Queensland’s Prostitution Licensing Authority seized Brown’s medical records from the Browns Plains Family Practice on March 12 after a complaint from the brothel’s proprietors.
The court was told that Brown was found to have supplied The Viper Room’s manager with medical certificates found to have been obtained and completed fraudulently.
Brown was free of sexually communicable diseases during the time of the fraud, the court heard.
Magistrate Trevor Morgan fined Brown $1000.
