Letter to the Editor

At the last meeting of Marrickville Council’s development committee, Mayor Morris Hanna moved a motion that a letter be sent to the Minister for Planning asking that he not approve any more brothels in Marrickville.

Greens councillors Sam Byrne, Fiona Byrne, Peter Olive and Saeed Khan voted against the mayor’s motion. Fortunately for Marrickville, the motion was carried.

I have repeatedly commented to Cr Sam Byrne that he is out of touch with the wishes of the local people. Perhaps with this latest vote he is trying to ensure that Marrickville has the highest number of brothels in NSW.
