It may be highly desirable for a Sunday paper to have Sex and War together in the banner headline, (“Council Sex War”, Sunday Telegraph 21 January 2007), but what of the hypocrisy thereunder? Councils are complaining about women taking money for sex, but their response is to pay men to have sex with those women. It’s bemusing that Councils are recruiting private investigators into undercover (geddit?) sex work, yet it is the honest female sex workers who are given short thrift (sorry, I didn’t mean that pun). If only everyone could take their “moralistic” gaze off other people’s bodies, and live and let love…
